The Florence Collection

What began as a single commission has blossomed into a full collection. Recently, I was commissioned by Howden Insurance to create a bespoke artwork to be auctioned in support of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven. The commission moved me deeply, and as I painted, one piece became fifteen — a full collection of original works inspired by the strength, compassion, and hope that this cause represents.

This body of work, titled The Florence Collection, is named after my oldest daughter. Although I didn’t have cancer myself, I was a patient of the Worcestershire Breast Unit for over a year due to severe complications breastfeeding. The experience left a lasting impression on me, and this collection is a personal expression of gratitude and connection to the care and kindness I received. I’m proud to share that

25% of all sales from this collection will be donated to the Worcestershire Breast Unit

helping to support their incredible work in our local community.

Each piece in this collection carries a message of resilience and renewal — a reminder that beauty and strength often arrives in unexpected places.

Howden Insurance’s Commission

“Everybody Knows Somebody”, 2025

Mixed media on canvas board, 40cm x 51cm

As an artist who usually leans toward neutral tones, I found myself unexpectedly immersed in pink — a colour I’ve come to embrace for its warmth, vibrancy, and connection to care and community.

This is the original commissioned piece that inspired The Florence Collection, created for Howden Insurance and is currently on display in their Worcester branch. This bespoke artwork will soon be auctioned, with all proceeds donated to the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven. I’m incredibly grateful to Howden for their support and help in bringing art and community together in such a meaningful way.
